Massive fire erupts at Timber Market in Kirti Nagar Huge fire erupts at Delhi's Kirti Nagar timber market on Wednesday afternoon. Ten fire tenders were dispatched to control the blaze, said the official. According to the Delhi Fire Services Department, the fire broke out at a furniture unit in Kirti Nagar's Timber Market. The fire call was received at approximately 12:22 PM, and 10 fire tenders were dispatched to the scene. No casualties reported yet as per reports by officials.

JSFM chairman Sohail Abro condemns terrorist attack in J&K Chairman Sohail Abro condemned the terrorist attack by Pak-sponsored, Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) and Hizbul Mujahideen (HM) group. He said that tourists were brutally attacked by terrorists in Jammu and Kashmir's Pahalgam. The Resistance Front (TRF), a shadow outfit of the banned Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT), claimed responsibility for the attack that targeted tourists in the Baisaran area of South Kashmir on Tuesday. He said that Burhan Wani, a notorious terrorist affiliated with Hizbul Mujahideen, was part of this violent campaign before being neutralised in Kashmir. He accused Pakistan's intelligence agency, the ISI, of supporting these terrorist groups.

All-party meeting on April 24 following a deadly terror attack in J&K The Union government will be calling an all-party meeting on Thursday in the wake of the terror attack in Pahalgam, Home Minister Amit Shah and Rajnath Singh are speaking to leaders of various parties on the issue.  Several opposition parties, including the Congress, had demanded that the government should convene a meeting of all parties over the issue.Singh is expected to brief leaders of different parties on the brutal terror attack targeting tourists that left at least 26 persons dead. Omar Abdullah Indigo flight diverted to Jaipur: CM slams Delhi airport for "operational chaos" A Delhi-bound IndiGo flight carrying Jammu and Kashmir (J-K) Chief Minister Omar Abdullah was reportedly diverted to Jaipur on Saturday night, prompting sharp criticism from the CM over what he described as 'operational chaos' at Delhi airport.   8 committees formed to implement Ayushman Bharat Yojna Delhi government's Department of Health and Family Welfare has formed eight committees for the effective implementation of the scheme. With this Delhi becomes 35th state or union territory to implement this health scheme.  Out of the eight committees formed, the major one is the State Empanelment Committee, along with seven other committees, which are as follows: The State Empanelment Committee will be chaired by the CEO of AB-PMJAY and will oversee hospital registrations, disciplinary actions, and inspections of registered hospitals. The second one is the District Empanelment Committee, which will handle timely hospital registrations, document verification, and field verification. The third one is the District Implementation Committee, which will assist in creating Ayushman cards, conducting awareness campaigns, and resolving grievances of beneficiaries. Marathi compulsory in Maharashtra, "action will be taken for those who oppose," said CM Fadnavis Maharashtra CM Devendra Fadnavis is saying that while everyone in the state has to learn Marathi, picking up extra languages like Hindi is still up to the individual. Delhi govt gears up to prevent waterlogging at 194 identified spots The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) government in Delhi is making every effort, including deploying automatic pumps and personnel at vulnerable spots, to ensure that the national capital remains free from waterlogging in monsoon, the chief minister said during an inspection of vulnerable points. PWD Minister Parvesh Verma, Gupta inspected the waterlogging-prone Minto Bridge underpass to take stock of the preparations for the upcoming monsoon season, according to a statement issued by the Delhi government. “All pumping systems on the sites will be fully automated and operators will be stationed on the sites 24×7 during monsoon, ensuring immediate response to any situation. The current government is working with full commitment to make Delhi flood-free and well-managed,” Gupta said.

  Shots fired at Muthappa Rai's younger son near Bengaluru Ricky Rai, son of late gangster and founder of pro-Kannada organisation Jaya Karnataka, Muthappa Rai, was allegedly shot at by unidentified assailants in Karnataka's Ramanagara district on Saturday. Rai was shot near his residence in Bidadi, a town in Karnataka. The incident took place around 1:30 am on Saturday. He has been referred to Bengaluru for treatment, said Ramanagara  (SP) Srinivas Gowda.

  Waqf Act hearing: SC gives Centre 7 days to file response The Supreme Court on Thursday directed the Union government, state governments, and waqf boards to submit their responses within seven days to the batch of petitions challenging the Waqf Amendment Act. The court also asked the petitioners to file their rejoinders within five days after receiving the replies. The Solicitor General (SG) Tushar Mehta, senior lawyer appearing for the Centre, assured the top court that it will not appoint non-Muslims to waqf boards or de-notify existing waqf till the interim prayer of petitioners is decided by the Court.
